A Grassroots Organization
The Estancia Basin Resource Association (EBRA) is a grassroots organization dedicated to preservation of water resources within the Estancia Basin, New Mexico. EBRA was originally formed in response to a proposal by Sierra Waterworks, LLC and the City of Santa Fe to begin extracting water from the Estancia Basin's already-declining aquifer to support future development in Santa Fe, despite the City's already-adequate water supply.
Mission Statement
The purpose for which the corporation is organized is to promote the social and
economic welfare of the residents of the Estancia Water Basin, in the Estancia
Valley, by protecting the water resources in the critical water management
area, by preserving the water resources in the Estancia Water Basin and discouraging
and preventing the exportation of water resources from the Basin, and by educating
Estancia Valley residents and others on water conservation issues.
